Living In Irvine

With it’s many beautiful parks, new communities, and award winning schools, Irvine has been voted over and over again as “the” safest place to live and raise a family in Orange County. The City of Irvine is also home to the world renowned William Woollett, Jr. Aquatics Center. Irvine’s “Learn To Swim” program is one of the largest municipal swimming programs in Southern California.

Irvine Parks and Recreation

Irvine has several great parks to choose from for a fun family day out. Here are two of the larger parks in Irvine:

Irvine Regional Park

This park has it all, a pond, waterfall, lots of shade trees, picnic area, a petting zoo, and the famous Irvine Park Railroad that takes visitors on a trip around the park. Just $3 to park and $5 on weekends.

Orange County Great Park

This park is large, 688 acres and you can’t miss it as a large balloon ‘orange’ floats atop the park which is actually a hot air balloon ride!. There is a weekly Farmers Market at the Great Park every Sunday with a variety of vendors and a soon to be ice rink. You can get visitor information and Great Park calendar of events here.

Community Parks in Irvine

  • Mike Ward Community Park which is part of the Woodbridge Community on the lake features basketball and volleyball courts and an amphitheater with summer concert series.
  • Bill Barber Memorial Park
  • Alton Athletic Park
  • Heritage Park
